Today, we are proud to announce that our brown rice has received a Low GI certification by the Glycemic Index Research Unit (GIRU), under Temasek Polytechnic. The GIRU is an accredited facility by the Singapore Accreditation Council (SAC) for conducting functional food testing. At the current point in time, we have not found anyone else to have a similar staple food product that is both tasty, Low GI, and highly versatile. PDF Attached here.
This grants us a unique position as the ultimate white rice replacement.
Unpolished rice typically have a GI rating around 65 out of 100, making us the first staple food on the market to comfortably sit below the 55 point mark required to achieve the Low GI status. This is particularly important, as each plate of white rice eaten daily raises the risk of diabetes by 11%, a statistic that the Singapore Health Promotion Board has raised over the past few years. However, people have been unable to switch to healthier alternatives, as many unpolished rice varieties taste bad, require much longer cooking, and cannot fit into many recipes easily.
But our brown rice can do all of that. What more needs to be said?
